When Eric blew in to NYC to forge his own personal myth among the melting pot multitude, a string of unhappy jobs led him to seek refuge in the burgeoning yoga scene.  Then he landed an awesome gig as a political fundraiser with a clever boss who saw how much more productive Eric was when he let him take an extra long mid-day break for yoga class. Thus encouraged to pursue his passion, Eric spent nearly two years also counting down to the citywide elections – September 11, 2001 – a morning he happened to be standing next to the Brooklyn Bridge gazing at lower Manhattan. The impact and fireball he watched that morning stoked a profound inner flame to dedicate his life to yoga, to seek and keep great company, and to share the artistry and healing potential of his Tantric lineage.

A Certified Anusara Yoga Instructor, Eric has been teaching at Virayoga in NYC since 2002. His classes and personal practice are deeply inspired by his dedicated study of Rajanaka Tantra, a shakta (goddess) lineage of Sri Vidya – or Auspicious Wisdom, as elucidated by Douglas Brooks. In addition to his public classes at Virayoga and loyal private clientele, Eric leads local and international retreats. He is a Strategic Partner for ECM Executive Consulting where he shares meditation and stress management strategies. He lives in historic Sugar Hill, Harlem with his screenwriter wife Heather and their son Jasper – and two cats, Nina Garcia and Bombay. For Eric's blog and more please visit sugarhillyoga.com.

Tom Weston practices and teaches yoga to align with his highest Truth, and to help point his students toward theirs. His introduction to yoga was through intensive engagement with the Bhagavad Gita as an undergraduate at Harvard College in 1985 with Diana Eck and later with Patricia Walden. It was then he began practicing Hatha yoga.

In 1996 Tom completed his intensive sadhana and studies with KRI director of teacher training, Gurucharan Singh Khalsa and was certified to teach Yogi Bhajan’s Kundalini Yoga.

After years exploring a wide variety of mind/body modalities, triathlon, marathon, and undergoing several major surgeries, Tom resumed practicing Hatha Yoga to help heal his injuries. Yoga Teachers’ Ana Forrest and Michael Carroll influenced his practice. In 2006 he became certified as a NASM personal trainer and 2009 completed advanced certification.

He has worked in depth with and is grateful to John Friend and his Anusara Teachers and Community: especially to Elena Brower founder of ViraYoga in NYC, for her teachings and constant inspiration. In April 2009 he completed his Anusara Yoga Teacher Training.

A full time teacher at an independent, alternative high school for at-risk students in Manhattan he continues his studentship of Yoga.
